THE SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES;
"SAVE A LEG, SAVE A HEART"
INVITES YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

WELCOME

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 6th annual New Advances in Cardiovascular and Endovascular Technologies. We at the Society for Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases are very excited,  specially at this time of year when we have the opportunity to share with the community the latest advances and new viewpoints in medicine. Every year we strive to bring international and national leaders in the fields of cardiovascular disease and again we have succeeded.

Either by internal or external influence, the practice of medicine is leaning towards cooperative integrated management. It's with this in mind that we have structured our society. We are firm believers that the interdisciplinary approach keeps a fresh view into disease management.

This year we honor Dr. Joxel García, recipient of the Mario Garcia Palmieri Global Education Award. This award is given to exceptional individuals with important contributions in the development of the medical practice.

Before I close, I’d like to thank each of your for attending our conference and bringing your expertise to our gathering. You, as physician leaders, have the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal and the experience to help us pave our way into the future. You are truly our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership. My personal respect and thanks goes out to all of you.

Jorge Arzola Colón, MD

Summit Overview

NACET Interdisciplinary Summit 2016 will bring the latest innovations and updates in the prevention and treatment of complex cardiovascular diseases that affect our population. We include a town hall discussion in imaging and radiation exposure for patient and personnel. Puerto Rico’s Hospitals are at crossroads to invest in hybrid operation room or not. We think different. An interdisciplinary working environment beyond departmental boundaries is necessary when we try to establish centers of treatment, which is recommended by the Affordable Care Act in order to lower our health care cost without affecting the practice of good medicine.

“Go Hybrid”.
